Amazing Hike If You Don't Mind Company
Round Top is a wonderful peak and this is one that you probably will be sharing with others. However, most people don’t actually climmb over to the true summit. The 360-degree views are unreal. The little class 3 climb up the true summit block is fun. A truly worthy peak in a high traveled area.

I had been wanting to bag this Peak forever. Finally decided to just do it. Grabbed my buddies Lee & Matt and went for it. We hiked from Carson Pass to Round Top Lake and then bushwhacked up to the open ridge where we found the trail. This turned into a steep rocky ascent, nice leg burner, but easy enough and straight forward up to the ridge line. Once here, the views to south exploded with Summit City Canyon thousands of feet below. We Navigated the ridge up to the false summit and then dropped into a gap before scrambling up the south side of the summit block. Fun little class 3 scramble to the top with nice holds. Found the benchmark and summit register. Amazing 360 views! No wind and swarms of butterflies on the summit. This hike lived up to all my expectations! My first Ogul has been put in the books!
